Excercise 1 - The Dynamics of Structure
- VCD 1231A (Foundation to 2D Design)
- Exercise 1: The Dynamics of Structure
- This was my first assignment. The goal for this exercise was to create a composition utilizing variety of organic and non-organic shapes, a wide range of value from light to dark, unity and asymmetry.
Exercise 2: Expressive Use of Line
- VCD 1231A (Foundation to 2D Design)
- Exercise 2: Expressive Use of Line
- In this second assignment, I strived for a design that is non-objective, asymmetrical utilizing variety of line characteristics in a dramatic contrast fashion.
                                                                                                   Exercise 3: Typography (Asymmetry)
- VCD 1231A (Foundation to 2D Design)
- Exercise 3: Typography
- In this third assignment, I created an asymmetrical typography design utilizing mixed upper and lower case of a single alphabet character, different point sizes, fonts with only black and white values.
                                                                                                                Exercise 3: Typography (Symmetry)
- VCD 1231A (Foundation to 2D Design)
- Exercise 3: Typography
- This was my 2nd design for symmetrical typography using the same criteria as in the 1st design of asymmetry.
Exercise 4: Typography and The Principle of Emphasis
- VCD 1231A (Foundation 2D Design)
- Exercise 4: Typography and The Principle of Emphasis
- This was my 1st design out of the 2 designs for this assignment. In this fourth assignment, I strived to create a design that captured the focal point at a very first glance using the upper and lower case of the first letter of my full name, one geometric shape with black, white, and gray values.
Exercise 4: Typography and The Principle of Emphasis
- VCD 1231A (Foundation to 2D Design)
- Exercise 4: Typography and The Principle of Emphasis
- This was my 2nd design for the assignment. Same criteria as in the 1st design except only first two letters of my first and last name being used.
                                                                                                                Project 1: Chromatic Value Scale
- VCD 1231A (Foundation to 2D Design)
- Project 1: Chromatic Value Scale
- This project was to create an eleven-step chromatic value scale that demonstrated the progression from white to black, or light to dark using a single hue of gouache paint.
Project 2: Monochromatic and Asymmetric Design
- VCD 1231A (Foundation to 2D Design)
- Project 2: Monochromatic and Asymmetric Design
- The asymmetric design was created using different geometric shapes that could demonstrate the illusion of deep space and craftsmanship through the use of a single hue of gouache paint.
Complementary Colors: Red and Green                   Analogous Colors: Blue, Green, &  Blue Green
- VCD 1231A (Foundation to 2D Design)
- Project 3: Original Design with Emphasis
- This project also emphasized on focal point. My goal was to create a composition that depicted my concept and theme employing the complexity, depth perception, variety of sizes and shapes with a dramatic contrast in color arrangement.
